This video is dedicated to the Hillsborough Co. Crisis Sheriff's Office (HCSO) Crisis Negotiation Team and Crisis Negotiators everywhere!HCSO’s Crisis Negotiation Team responds to incidents that involve barricaded subjects, with or without hostages, and suicidal subjects. Using highly skilled and trained negotiators, the team strives to resolve incidents as peacefully as is possible, thereby reducing the risk of injury or loss of life for citizens and officers alike. The team works closely with the HCSO SWAT Team personnel and elements of the mental health community. The Hostage Negotiation Team is on call 24 hours a day and responds to incidents countywide. All of the CNT personnel are volunteers. The negotiators are selected from among the ranks of the Sheriff’s Office. When selecting negotiators a special emphasis is placed on selecting deputies that possess superior communication skills.
